International court of justice gave its verdict on Kulbushan Jadhav's case on June 17 making a breaking news for both of the countries, this decision was historic in terms of Diplomatic win for Pakistan and a lesson learnt for India and Indian RAW in specific.
Kulbushan Jadhav is an Indian navy officer who was arrested in Balochistan on the charges of spying and espionage in Pakistan. The verdict was very important for both the neighboring countries as both the governments' have been blaming each other on their involvement in terrorist activities in their respective countries. India went to ICJ after Pakistan's military court gave Kulbushan Jadhav death sentence. India's claim throughout this period was that Kulbushan was not an active naval officer and that he has been doing business in Iran and he was kidnapped by Mullah Omer of jaish e adl and was handed over to Pakistan Army.
India accusation on Pakistan in ICIJ were not informing India of Jadhav's detention, not informing Jadhav of his rights under Vienna convention, and not giving consular access to Jadhav. The demands included to declare the decision made by Pakistan's court null and void and release Jadhav and allow him safe passage to India. All these demands were rejected by ICJ except a request to Pakistan to reconsider consular access. This decision was a great diplomatic win for Pakistan and resulted in sheer disappointment for India. This case was not limited to Kulbushan only, the result of this decision helped Pakistan in strengthening its claims on India's involvement in terrorist activities in Karachi and Balochistan. Especially in the light of new economic cooperation of China and Pakistan which India could not digest, Kulbushan played his role in sabotaging this cooperation by creating security issues for china and Pakistan.
Indian media as usual gave misleading information to people on this judgment and called it historic win for India which later on their own experts on media channels corrected them and called on for a better step ahead politically.
Pakistan played its cards very well by sending the proofs of India's involvement and the information gained from kulbushan to UK and USA. Pakistan's security forces also made sure to China on its serious efforts put in safety and security of Chinese officials in Balochistan and Gwadar. Moving forward now with Pakistan making sound developments in relationship with other countries and Afghanistan border fencing and improving security conditions, it has now become difficult for India to keep its terrorist activities running in Pakistan.
Pakistan has granted consular access to Jadhav, It is now in the mutual benefit for both of these countries to sit together and resolve issues through dialogue and end this never ending proxy wars and move forward with Peace which Pakistan is now sincerely trying and Pakistan has shown its will of Peace Making by freeing its Pilot and opening kartarpur border. United Nations should also play its role in bringing these two countries on table to avoid further loss of lives and tax money of these two nations.
